Your goals reveal something important
Why I twice grew companies to 300 team members
One of the easiest ways to uncover a Limiting Belief is to look at your goals.
Several years ago, I noticed something interesting about my own career.
I’ve co-founded and built multiple businesses. In the 2 largest ones, they both grew to about 300 people. They were successful, and I was proud of what I’d created and run.
Only later did I realize what that pattern revealed.
Somewhere along the way, I had unconsciously developed the belief that I could build businesses to about that size, but not much larger. Meanwhile, other entrepreneurs without that Limiting Belief built nationwide public companies.
That made me look for Limiting Beliefs in other parts of my life. Because I realized we all have them.
Here's a simple exercise:
Choose an important goal.
Write down what you believe is realistic, perhaps even a stretch.
Then write down the best result anyone has ever achieved in that area.
The gap between those two numbers often reveals a Limiting Belief rather than an actual limitation.
Limiting Beliefs are powerful because they operate below conscious awareness. They literally limit you without you realizing it. But once you identify them, you can begin replacing them, allowing you to achieve your full potential.
In The Success Mindset (coming soon!), I show you how to identify your Limiting Beliefs and the practical techniques you can use to eliminate them.
