Happiful Ideal Day App

The simple but powerful tool that makes every day a great day.

Thank you for being a beta tester for the Happiful Ideal Day App!

It’s simple and quick for you to get started, and we think it’s intuitive to use. But we want your feedback and suggestions!

We have a longer-term vision for a full app that helps guide people through every aspect of the Happiful program, but we have started with something very simple: an easy to customize online version of our Ideal Day Checklist.

The purpose of the Ideal Day Checklist is for each person to create their own personal checklist of all the recurring actions they want to take each day (which we call your Ideal Day Protocol) and then to give you that customized checklist so you can check them off each day to ensure you actually follow that Ideal Day Protocol (or at least as much as you can do on a given day). This is not a task manager or calendar; it’s for the recurring daily actions that make every day a great day – for you.

“You will never change your life until you change something you do daily."

To get started

There’s nothing to download, just click here and we’ll send you an email to activate your account. The app is a web page you can access on your phone or computer.

You initially do a quick setup in the Create tab to select which actions you want to have as part of your Ideal Day, separated into Morning Routine, Daily Actions, and Daily Shutdown (see below).

We have some Default actions in each area that you can keep or remove, we have a list of other Suggested actions you might want to add in each area, and you can add Custom actions.

  • The Default items are those that we believe are most important for everyone to do each day and therefore to have in your checklist.

  • Suggested are those that we recommend in Happiful and you may or may not want to include.

  • Custom is for you to add anything you want to do each day that’s not in Default or Suggested.

You can also edit any of the actions and reorder the actions.

To use the app

Your Morning Routine consists of the actions you want to take each morning to get your day off to a good start. Things like Gratitude, Affirmations, Visualization, reviewing your plan for the day, getting some exercise, maybe meditation or breathwork, etc.

Your Daily Activities are the key actions you want to take each day, personally or professionally. Perhaps it is 2 focused work blocks, doing a 30 minute workout, reaching out to friends and family, making a certain number of sales calls, writing a certain number of words – whatever you want to make sure you do each day between when your Morning Routine ends and when you stop your productive activities and “shut down” for the day. Which leads us to…

Your Daily Shutdown is the routine you follow to bring your productive work to an end so you can unwind and relax for the rest of the day and evening.

We don’t include things like brushing your teeth, showering, getting dressed, and eating breakfast because they are going to happen no matter what. But if you want to add these sorts of activities, you can put them in as Custom actions. (Be aware that you are limited to 60 actions on your Ideal Day Checklist. This is to prevent people from putting down everything they can think of, and therefore reducing the emphasis on those things they really should be focused on doing each day.)

The whole idea is that you can customize the checklist to suit your needs, so play with it and modify what’s in it and in what order until it matches what you actually want to try to do each day.

You can use your customized checklist either online or printed.

Available in Print and Online

Print Version

At the bottom of the Create tab, you can print out the week’s checklist and 7 copies of the Happiful Planner (I always encourage print use to keep you off your phone and to keep it visible).

Online Version

If you prefer an online checklist, your customized version is in the Today’s Checklist tab. You can use it on your phone or computer, checking things off as you go. And you can edit your checklist any time back in the Create tab.

We don’t yet have an online version of the Happiful Planner; that will come later on as a convenience for people who don’t have a printer.

For testing and feedback purposes, we’d appreciate it if you would try both print and online, and with the online, try both on your phone and computer.

Providing Feedback

It would be great if you would jot down notes on anything you found difficult or confusing as you get started. And then, of course, please also note any issues or suggestions that come up when using it on a daily basis.

When you’re ready to share your feedback, you can email me at paul@behappiful.com. And if you have additional thoughts, please continue to share them as they come up.

Thank you!

We truly appreciate you taking the time to test out the app and give us feedback. We’re very excited about where we can take this in the future, and your feedback will help to guide us along the way.

You may want to save this page in case you have any questions navigating the Happiful Ideal Day App.
